| OCC Performs Investigation of Ambrose Light Tower | < Back | On July 17, 2007, OCC's engineer-divers completed the underwater investigation of the Ambrose light tower located in 100 feet of water in the Atlantic Ocean. This tower marks the convergence of several main shipping channels into New York Harbor and is also part of NOAA's National Data Buoy Center reporting important oceanographic information. OCC performed the above water and underwater investigation of the tower using 5 engineer-divers (including 2 PE-Divers) and obtained digital photos and videos throughout the structure. OCC received dive safety support for the project from Underwater Construction Corporation of Essex, CT (Decompression Chamber and DMT) and vessel support from Miller's Launch of Staten Island, NY (105 foot vessel and crew). This project is an important milestone in OCC's continued growth in size and capability. |
